Derren influences two guys who work in the advertising industry. (Isn’t the guy with the glasses annoying?)

@fukyouas don’t understand. I mean the shot between 1.16-1.18. In the left you see a paper on the table, but Derrek puts it there seconds later. are we talking about the same? regards, michel

And that’s the point here. Everybody that watches commercials and advertising things, have a certain good feeling with it, because if we should set up an advertisment of the same product ourselves, we would come close to the things we already see.

I think there was bit more going on here. See, there is not much you can do to make dead, stuffed carcasses look appealing. They were pigeon holed, forced to choose the clouds, wings, harp, etc, because how else do you glamorize dead things? There was pretty much no choice for them to select those images…if they are any good at advertising, which they are.

All Derren’s tricks made during his liveshows in theatre are simple trickery. This made me think about his tv programs. Only on the principle of dual reality is possible to achieve most of the things he does.If psychology would do what he pretends to, he wouldn’t be the only one to know those principles and also books would be written about it… In conclusion what derren does is magic…. of course sometimes he uses nlp and hypnosis but it’s part of the misdirection.

it doesn’t even need a relaxed mind. Ericksonian hypnosis which is the foundation for NLP claims that a greater focus is what is required no matter if it’s induced by lowering the avarage focus, inducing a confused state with then a presented solution with a hidden suggestion in it, or even raising the adrenalin level and presenting an object of high focus. If they’re hostile and tense - utilize it linguistically and develope repour :)

Ninzio April 23, 2010 at 2:45 am

It’s really hard if the suggestion is hidden in an obvious fact that you accept and acknowledge. Then you accept the obvious fact and don’t see hidden suggestion that’s attached to the accepted statement, in a subliminal way, but the subliminal message still influences you :/

@alexthecasualgamer thats a rather misinformed explanation. Guitaraddict4life is correct. If you wanted to avoid hypnosis in a situation where there was absolutely no need to anticipate it, you’d have to have your conscious mind constantly focused on avoiding hypnosis from everyone you meet. Although one can be hypnotized when they know its coming, providing their mind is open to the experience.

@alexthecasualgamer no not really, hypnosis only requires that you are not hostile or tense. a relaxed mind is all thats needed. honestly hypnosis is just a way to over ride the brains filters if you will so if your”firewall” is on or in other words your concious effort to NOT get hypnotized is at work, then it won’t work. but with subliminals you have no idea their there so theres no effort to “filter ” it
