he says “Your happy to give that to me” which the mind doesnt see as what when hes asking him overloaded questions and confusing the concious. If you get someone to agree with you a few times in a manner like he did then ask for something makes them more likly to give that to them so thats what he does if u watch it over again and your right its along the lines of NLP all hypnosis to is some form of control.

understand that the SMARTER you are, the EASIER it is to be hypnotised… All you need to do is FOCUS. It’s mentally defective people who’s mind constantly wanders that cannot be hypnotised. If you are focusing on following the Hypnotists instructions, doing exactly what they say, when they say it, how they say it, nothing more, nothing less, then nothing can stop you from being hypnotised.

Derren demonstrates the “scam” in episode 1 of “Mind Control”. It’s NOT “Traditional” Hypnosis, but it uses NLP or “Conversational” hypnosis language patterns. He asks for directions and then says. I hope you don’t mind GIVING me directions? they say yes and he says “of course it’s all right to give me directions, why would you have a problem GIVING them to me? It’s OK to GIVE them to me… putting them in a GIVING mood, then quickly switches to give me your wallet…

it seems the reluctance to fully answer the question would suggest that hypnosis must play a part in any scam like the russian one mentioned. prehaps it makes the manipulation that much easier. After all stage shows often manipulate how people react to a suggested action.People then do things that Prehaps they do not feel strongly enough to stop themselves once the suggestion is implanted, but still if you asked them before being hypnotised then they wouldn’t do the suggested actions.

Derren Brown, and the Russians confused their victims beyond normal functioning. And subliminally suggested that giving up their wallets was the proper social thing to do.
This is not hypnosis. This is manipulation.

Hi Richard, If you re-framed someone so the suggestion you wanted to put to them became acceptable in a particular circumstance could you make them do something they normally wouldn’t do. Also, if you used time distortion to make them think that they had already done something they wouldnt do in the present tense, do you think it would be possible to command them to do it again?

How would you know if you were actually in a state of hypnosis? Maybe you’ve been in a state of hypnosis before but your concious didn’t realise it and your unconcious did.
Can you really be sure that you’ve never been in a state of hypnosis? You don’t have to think about these questions if you don’t want to.

Go to a competent hypnotist or hypnotherapist, NOT a psychologist. Every one of normal intelligence (i.e. IQ above 70) is capable of experiencing hypnosis. You ARE already experiencing hypnosis at least twice each day (see 1:40 in this clip). I consider myself of at least average intelligence. I have a Masters degree in science. yet have been unable to be hypnotized. I have gone to trained psychologist and never experienced hypnosis. Mind control and hypnosis have nothing to do with the military training to “kill” The soldier kills becasue it is survival. Kill or be killed is instinctual, not a matter of the heart.

Do they use hypnosis or some other technique in the military to make new soldiers shoot and kill people even when certain new soldiers do not have the heart to kill people?
How does military training create the ability in a soldier to kill a human even if he does not want to do it?

Some of the old-timers propegate the “Svengali character” but universally almost all performer in the past two decades have taken a non-systical comedy, emphasis on the audience approach. And although the apperance of control to a layperson may be the perception, it certainly isn’t the fact. And in almost every pre-talk I hear from Vegas to comedy clubs post-1980 the performer makes it clear he has not control.

I understand your dislike of the perception of “magical” hypnosis, but doen’t stage show hypnosis propigate that perception on purpose? The show appears to a layperson in the audience as if the hypnotist has “controll” over the volunteers. Interesting projection. DB also does live shows.

Have seen and understand but it is not “magical hypnosis” that caused the outcome, but rather simple manipulation with words/distraction - the same people could have been scammed in 100 other ways. Also, DB has a TV show, do you *really* believe relaity was is as it was portrayed on TV? Did he do the “Russian Scam” on the first take with the first person?
