What Is The Most Effective Way To Resolve Projected Repressions?

by admin on May 5, 2009

LUCKY3 asked:

Unlike classical projection which mirrors the denied feelings…an individual who exhibits a form of “mental intrusion delusion” (without psychosis)—projects the intrusion of their own repressed, unconscious thoughts…on to the outside world. In other words, such individual feels controlled by the deliberate thoughts of others.

A preferred treatment approach is to move forward…under the assumption that thoughts are repressed for a reason. However, such mind over matter…NLP model appears to confound the already present defensives.

What possible treatment options would you suggest (non Rx)?
INTEL _KNIGHT: Seeing how this question is related to my studies and not to Self…would it be presumptuous to infer that you are in fact projecting your ‘Mental Intrusion Delusion’ onto me? :-)
CALISTA S: That article was very James Redfield. The world of psychic phenomena has yet to prove itself to me; however, there were a few interesting points made. I will have to conduct further research. As per my question, I am studying a complexity science model. I have posed a particular situation in hopes to explore some other possibilities.
LORD Z: Hypervigilance—Thank you…I could not have said it better myself. Yes, the idea is to ‘release’ said ‘conditioned response’, which is reigniting. But I do not think memories are stored as we presently believe; there is a component missing. I do not know what I am looking for…and perhaps that is a good thing. Though, it does not seem correct that a memory formed in a minute can affect an individual for a lifetime…yet in a lifetime we cannot figure out how to undo that minute. When doing psych experiments on loved ones, I notice that the state of uncertainty (doubt, fear) primes my dad…I mean an individual…best for new imprints. Perhaps, we need to traumatize people to be happy. I will look into hypnotherapy. Circuit???? What from Circuit II Mammalian to Circuit III Paleolithic????

Cabin Fever is running rampant on Answer! Yahoo. Please, please go out and play in the woods for a couple of weeks. You will be surprised at the change it will make on your outlook on life.

Please leave your radios, boom boxes, iPods, stereo head gear at home. It can drive the wild animals clean out of park and they do a hell of lot more damage when they stampede to civilized housing then any War can.

Hey, wow you have some wording there

Just beleive more strongly in how you think and feel and hold on to this, just use your own strong thoughts to overpower the thoughts coming from others.

Take a look at this article from mind reality>

Theres also many more interesting articles on the sight.

A person with such problems would have to stop living in denial and accept the fact that he/she has a mental issue that needs to be/can be corrected… admit when they’re wrong, accept rejections and learn to deal with their sensitivity issues-that’s a good start!
Emotions run rampant within us all at times, but when you learn how to put them in check and cope with your fears and negativites in life… nothing could hold you back. That can only be accomplished by experience in the real world (live and learn) and not by hiding in a shell… embrace the good encounters and accept the fact that things aren’t always going to turn up pleasant/your way.

IME the presenting behavior does not have roots in the sub-conscious, or autonomic centers of the brain. It is a learned behavior that has root cause in severe abuse suffered through lack of nurturing and validation by the role model authority figure in childhood. That is why the NLP model can be counter-productive. I find a combination of Time-Line Therapy, as well as a classic Behavior Modification Desensitization treatment plan to have remarkable success in both short term cessation, and long term abolition.

I also feel Redifield has some good… “insights”. How do you feel about Dan Millman?

I am gathering that you believe that there is some form of hypervigalence as opposed to paranoia and you are trying to solve some sort of PTSD without use of anti-psychotics by means of some sort of hypnotherapy or post hypnotic suggestion to try and bridge the presumed linguistic gaps that are blocking your attempt to draw a connection between the incident and the delusion and you are finding some resistance to the treatment so you are thinking that the hypnosis is a failure when in all likelihood it is just being met with resistance by the subject in question. A guess mind you. otherwise that may be your answer, hypnotherapy intended to bridge the gap over time. This is really getting into the part where the hypothetical patient needs to be examined to rule out paranoia and to determine the patient’s level of responsiveness to the different modes of therapy. The reason to suggest the hypnotherapy is the bit about confounding the already present defensives. Consider this a bypass of sorts. It just may take a while to complete the circuit so to speak.
