It didn’t work on the 3rd guy not because Derren got it wrong, but because the guy recognised Derren. He’s thinking “I wanna catch him out”- you can tell by the way he’s smiling before Derren even says anything, and that sarky comment “take the train”

It could also be a miss in his choice of subject. The third guy might have been more alert already from the start whereas the other subjects he chose was probably in a more trancelike state to begin with.

good work showing examples of what did and didn’t work. lol. seconly, the failure third example most like was ineffective because the target was visually accessing the destination image, whereas the 2 previous targets had a digital-audio internal accesing cue, the latter being more easily alterred with the suggestive hand motions and verbal cues utilized.
